3 Best Face Washes For Acne & Pimples You Should Try !
If you are looking for face washes for acne prone skin then you should definitely try these three acne face wash recipes. All these three recipes can be used for both oily and dry skin. It does not make the skin greasy so it is perfect for oily skin and it does not dry out the skin as well so people with dry skin can also use them. We get acne when our hair follicles get clogged with oil. Though acne can occur at any age, it usually happens during adolescence when there are hormonal changes. Stress and poor diet also can cause acne, I get acne when I am extremely stressed. Most of the mild forms of acne can be treated at home easily. One of the best ways to treat acne at home easily is to use face washes that has anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties. We get loads of face washes in the market particularly for treating acne but we can easily make them at home without any of the preservatives, colors and synthetic fragrances. Though these face washes are homemade, you will find no difference between them and store bought acne face wash. They foam well, smell amazing and has wonderful antiseptic and anti inflammatory properties and is very very gentle on the skin. The base for these recipes are rice water and liquid castile soap. Rice water reduces inflammation, treats acne and is very soothing on the skin. Castile soap cleans well and is very gentle on the skin as it is made with olive oil as a base. I also love to add aloe vera gel in the recipe as it prevents skin dryness, it also helps reduce the inflammation very quickly. All these three acne face wash recipes use the same base and they differ only by the essential oils you add to it. Essential oils have amazing anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties and they make the face wash smell amazing too. I have given three acne face wash recipes, choose the one you like and use regularly.

3 Top Ways To Use Alum Powder (Phitkari) For Skin Whitening | Lighten Acne Scars & Dark Spots
Alum powder also called as Fitkari or Phitkari in India has amazing skin benefits and uses. Alum powder has anti bacterial and skin lightening properties making it very effective for reducing dark spots and acne scars on our face really well. There are many types of alum and the type of alum I am referring to is called potash alum. The chemical formula for potassium alum is KAl (SO4)2.H2O. It is the hydrated form of potassium aluminum sulfate and it's nomenclature is potassium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate. Potash alum powder is commonly called Alum | Picking Alum in English, Fitkari in Hindi, Phitkari in Urdu, Padikaram in Tamil, Patika in Telugu, Phatakadi in Gujarati, Phatikara | Patika in Kannada, Sphatikari in Sanskrit, Patki in Sindhi, Phatakiri in Bengali, Phatakadi in Malayalam, Tawas in Philippines and Turti in Marathi. One of the best ways to use alum powder for skin lightening is in the form of face pack. When I say skin whitening, I mean to lighten dark spots and scars and make your skin look even toned and smooth. Skin whitening does not mean to change the color of the skin we are born with which is impossible and unnecessary as every skin tone looks beautiful as far as it is even toned and smooth. When we apply alum face packs regularly, it does few amazing things for our skin: It treats skin problems like acne as it has anti bacterial properties. It also lightens acne scars, dark spots and prevents blackheads too. It also heals minor cuts and scrapes along with tightening our skin. But we have to remember few things when we use alum powder for skin whitening. Alum powder can be drying on the skin so always apply a moisturizer after using alum face packs. Alum is also a mild abrasive so when removing the face pack always wash it off gently using plain water than rubbing it off. This is especially important if you have sensitive skin. I have given three alum face packs I tried and liked very much, choose the one you like and use it regularly weekly twice or thrice to see good results...

3 Top Ways To Use Rosewater & Glycerin For Face & Skin | For Skin Whitening, Acne & Dry Skin
Glycerin and rose water is an amazing combination and I love to use them together. I always stock fresh homemade rose water at home as I keep using it a lot. Both rose water and glycerin have amazing skin benefits and when used together keeps our skin super soft and glowing. Rose water has anti bacterial, anti inflammatory, mild astringent and soothing properties. Glycerin is an amazing humectant, that is it traps moisture so it keeps our skin hydrated always. Glycerin and rose water body lotion was one of the first homemade lotions I tried at home. When I was around 15 years old, I bought a small cosmetic book and the first recipe that caught my attention was rose water and glycerin body lotion. It looked so easy and I made it in a matter of seconds and I was also very happy how it turned out. Glycerin and rose water when used together have these following skin benefits: 1. As a Moisturizer: Glycerin and rose water combination moisturizes the skin really well and is a good substitute for chemical based moisturizers. Rosewater and glycerin combination in the ratio of 2: 1 can be used as a moisturizer for lips too. 2. As a Skin protectant: It also acts a skin protectant, glycerin is a natural humectant and it helps trap moisture in the skin. It forms a protective layer and prevents water loss. It also has anti inflammatory properties and soothes irritated skin and is perfect for applying on sunburned skin as it is very soothing and hydrating. 3. For Skin Lightening: It has skin lightening properties and lightens dark spots, dark circles around the eyes, scars, age spots and evens out the skin complexion if used daily. I would suggest using the rose water and glycerin serum recipe given below for skin lightening. 4. For Acne: Since it has anti inflammatory properties, it greatly prevents acne flare ups and since it has a soothing effect it is also good to use during the flare up. 5. For Dry Skin: It is one of the best home remedies for dry skin, when we use rose water and glycerin together it softens dry skin. Regular use will result in smooth glowing skin. Though we get plenty of rose water brands in the market, I would suggest making your homemade rose water. When we make our own rosewater, we know it is pure and we can also make it with fresh rose petals that are not sprayed with pesticides. We get both plain glycerin and vegetable glycerin (which is not common in India but can be ordered online) in the markets, I would suggest using only vegetable glycerin as it is made from pure plant oils....

5 Top Face Benefits Of Using Aloe Vera Gel Everyday | Treats Acne, Sunburn & Wrinkles
Aloe Vera gel has been used from ancient times for skin care and here in our village it is extensively used for skin care. We use it for treating burns, acne and for all kinds of inflammation. We have plenty of Aloe Vera plants growing in our farm and whenever we want we cut a leaf, extract the fresh gel and use it for remedies. Though we get many ready made Aloe Vera gel in the markets, I would suggest using fresh homemade Aloe Vera gel for best results. I do use store bought Aloe Vera gel but only for making creams as it has longer shelf life and it also gives perfect consistency to homemade creams. To make fresh Aloe Vera gel, cut a leaf from the plant and then wash the leaf thoroughly to get rid of the slimy green juice. Now remove the thorns on both sides of the leaf, cut in half and then scoop out the flesh. Your pure homemade Aloe Vera gel is ready. Applying Aloe Vera gel on the face have these following skin benefits: 1. Anti Bacterial Properties: Aloe Vera gel has anti bacterial properties making it very effective for treating all skin infections. 2. Aloe Vera Gel For Facial Wrinkles: Aloe Vera is amazing for treating wrinkles as it helps improve elasticity both when taken internally and applied externally. You can read the study that proves it here. 3. Aloe Vera Gel For Acne: For people with acne prone skin, fresh Aloe Vera gel is truly a blessing. Though natural we can't use many herbs on acne prone skin as it will cause intense burning and irritation. But Aloe Vera gel is very very soothing and is perfect to use on acne prone skin even daily. 4. Amazing Moisturizer: If you don't want chemical based moisturizers and are looking for a natural alternative, look no further. Aloe Vera gel is a perfect and amazing natural moisturizer that can be used even on the most sensitive skin. 5. Aloe Vera Gel For Sun Burn: Aloe Vera gel is great for burn, it does two things when used as a treatment for sunburn. It reduces burning sensation and redness immediately and also helps us get back our original skin color very soon. I have given 5 different ways for using fresh Aloe Vera gel for facial care, give it a try...

How To Use Lemon Juice For Face & Skin Care | 5 Ways!
Using lemon juice for skin care is a practice that has been followed in almost all the countries. Especially lemon juice is a very very popular remedy for treating acne and fading acne scars. Vitamin C is said to be one of the best topical treatments for acne, acne scars and fading dark spots. Vitamin C has anti inflammatory properties and helps treat acne very well and we all know lemons are one of the best sources of vitamin C. Lemon juice also has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties and are great for treating skin infections. But though lemons are one of the best remedies for treating many skin problems, I would suggest practicing caution while using lemon juice. Lemon juice, depending on the variety has a pH of 2 to 3 and our skin mantle has a pH of 4. 5 to 5.5. This is the reason our skin burns when we apply raw lemon juice on the skin, in my personal opinion I would suggest not using lemon juice directly on the skin at all. Instead use it with other conditioning ingredients like yogurt and fruit extracts, that way we will get the skin benefits of lemon juice without harming our skin. The common advise for using lemon is to apply the juice and leave it on the skin overnight daily or rub a lemon half on the skin directly, both these methods can harm our skin especially if we have sensitive and dry skin. Though I prefer to follow only the beauty treatments and home remedies that my family member's are using for years, sometimes I do try out remedies following books and other online sources. Some times they work and some times they don't but the one time I tried applying raw lemon juice on my sun burnt skin to remove the tan, it did the worst damage. From then on I have never used raw lemon juice on my skin at all. Also I would suggest doing a small patch test before applying any face pack that contains natural bleaching ingredients like lemon. I have given 5 natural and safe ways to use lemon juice for treating acne and acne scars below. These are the treatments that I have tried out on my skin and found to be very effective...

5 Top Ways To Use Raw Honey To Treat Acne & Acne Scars On Face
One of our family friends used to massage her face regularly with pure honey and I have never seen her experience skin break outs. Though many other factors like genetics, diet, stress levels and cosmetics we use also play a role in the health of our skin, using honey regularly on the skin also greatly helps. Pure honey has anti bacterial and antiseptic properties which makes it very effective for treating acne and acne scars. It is also very very gentle on the skin. In my personal experience, I have never seen any of my family member's or friends having any problems applying honey on their skin. Honey has anti inflammatory properties too which helps treat the inflammation gently without causing any side effects. Honey is also very sticky which helps draw out impurities from the skin very effectively. Pure honey also helps fade acne scars very very effectively. If you are suffering from acne and if you are planning on using this honey treatment, I would suggest taking honey internally too. Applying honey externally and taking it internally will help treat the inflammation very very quickly. Honey is full of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and it helps improve immunity. I would suggest taking honey in the form of turmeric milk by mixing organic turmeric powder and honey in grass fed cow's milk. Turmeric has wonderful anti inflammatory properties and it will help fight off acne too. Also please make sure to check the purity of the honey before using it on the skin and always try to use unpasteurized, unprocessed pure raw organic honey. To check for the purity, pour few drops of honey in a glass of water it shouldn't dissolve immediately and the color of the water shouldn't change which happens when honey is adulterated with sugar syrup. I have given some of the ways you can use honey for treating acne and acne scars below, chose the method that you prefer. But if you have very very sensitive skin, I would suggest just applying pure honey which by itself will improve the skin tone really well...

This wonderful clay called multani mitti in Hindi, fuller's earth in English and multhani matti in Tamil is a type of natural clay that has been used for hair and skin care for centuries. Multani mitti is one of the most used ingredients in beauty industry and if you go to any beauty shop, you can get multani mitti very easily. From young, I was always interested in beauty treatments, I still remember my first experience with multani mitti well. I had got a small lump of multani mitti from khadi shop, the old lady in the counter said that it was one of the finest multani mitti and indeed it was! As per my grandmas instructions, I mixed it with fresh sandal wood paste and raw milk and applied on my face and I loved how my face felt smooth and refreshed afterwards. I have been using multani mitti for beauty treatments ever since :). Multani mitti draws out impurities and oiliness from the skin very well, in fact it was also one of the reasons it was named fuller's earth! Several years back textile wool workers who were called fullers used multani mitti along with other ingredients like soap wort, urine and water to absorb the lanolin and sticky oils from wool so it came to know as fuller's earth. Multani mitti is rich in minerals and is very well known for it's absorbing and cleansing properties. Here are some of the skin and hair benefits of multani mitti: 1. Multani Mitti For Removing Oiliness: The wonderful absorbing qualities of multani mitti makes it an amazing ingredient for people who are suffering from excessive oiliness. Using multani mitti face pack removes excessive oiliness but try to mix it with light liquids like rose water or rice water etc. 2. Multani Mitti For Removing Dead Skin: Multani mitti is also very good in removing dead skin from the skin. If you have used multani mitti face packs before you must have noticed how smooth your skin feels afterwards. 3. Multani Mitti For Skin Brightening: Since multani draws out impurities and tightens the skin thus improving the blood circulation, you will always find your skin much brighter after using multani mitti. 4. Multani Mitti For Black Heads, White Heads & Acne: Multani mitti prevents clogged pores thus preventing black heads and white heads. It also has mild antiseptic properties and is very soothing which makes it very ideal for using it on acne prone skin. Multani mitti improves skin elasticity and keeps the skin smooth and supple and it also helps fade scars when used regularly. 5. Multani Mitti For Hair: Multani mitti when applied on the scalp improves the blood circulation and also removes grime, dirt and excessive oiliness thus preventing dandruff and scalp itching. How to apply multani mitti? Multani mitti can be mixed with rose water or rice water for oily skin and for dry skin it can be mixed with milk or yogurt. Where to buy multani mitti? Multani mitti is sold in almost all the beauty shops all over India. You can also order it online through shops like Amazon. Multani Mitti Side Effects: Multani mitti removes oil from the skin so if you have very dry skin always use multani mitti with a conditioning ingredient like milk or yogurt. People who are suffering from pica eat multani mitti but eating multani mitti will cause nutritional deficiencies, dental problems and stomach related problems so please never eat multani mitti.....

How to Use Neem oil For Acne & Acne Scars
For natural acne treatment, neem oil is the best and the most effective. Many teenagers suffer from acne, which can be very traumatic. There are good home remedies for acne and this remedy is one of the best. Acne is caused by bacteria and since neem is antibacterial and that too an effective one, makes neem the best for treating acne. Though you can use neem in the form of soaps and scrubs that you get in the markets, using it the raw form is the most effective. Neem oil can be bought very cheaply and it is available every where. Than using only the neem oil, I prefer to use it along with a neem face pack, as I feel it gives wonderful results. This neem oil treatment starts with a face pack which has got turmeric and neem leaves. After the face pack, neem oil is mixed with coconut oil and then applied on the face. Though it is a bit messy and time consuming to make the paste, this treatment is very very effective for acne. This treatment fades acne scars and prevents new ones from forming. However as many of you will be aware, neem oil does not smell good, it is ok when used as a fresh leaf, but as oil, it smells really bad and it is very very strong. So when you are doing this treatment please don't wear your favorite or expensive clothes, as even a drop of neem oil will make the whole dress smell bad. Since this is a natural treatment please don't expect instant results, but if you use regularly it will give the best results. To make the face pack, rub a piece of organic turmeric on a coarse stone and collect the paste. Collect fresh tender neem leaves and grind it to a fine paste, add the turmeric paste and grind to a smooth paste. Now apply the face on a clean face and wait for it to dry. Once dry, wash it off without scrubbing the face especially if you have a lot of acne on the face. Pat dry and apply the oil blend and massage it gently well into the skin. At first you might find the smell of neem oil very irritating, but with regular use, trust me you will get used to it. And if you see the results, you might start loving it :)

DIY Homemade Cucumber Face Mask Recipe For Acne | Cucumber Face Mask Benefits
Cucumber face mask is an easy face mask that can be made by everyone and has amazing skin benefits. It is so refreshing and cooling to use a cucumber face mask, especially during summer time. This cucumber face mask treats sun burns very effectively and this face mask is also ideal for using on acne prone skin, as it is very soothing. When we have acne any thing you apply on it burns and irritates the skin. If the acne is very bad, it is very painful and sometimes we can't even wash our face properly. Try this face mask, if you suffer from acne. It is very gentle on the skin, eases the inflammation, reduces acne and heals acne scars. This face mask contains fresh organic cucumber puree, fresh Aloe Vera gel, full fat milk powder and essential oils. The essential oils I have used are tea tree essential oil and lavender. My first experience treating acne with tea tree oil happened a year back. I had purchased a bottle of tea tree essential oil after reading about it's wonderful benefits in Readers Digest magazine. When one of my nephews, who is a teenager, suffered from a break out of acne, I made him apply tea tree oil with a cotton swab only on the spots. The acne diminished magically, the next day itself. Tea tree oil is very effective for acne, as it has anti bacterial, anti inflammatory properties. But people with sensitive skin, should not use it alone and it also dries out the skin, especially if used directly. It is always best to use essential oils along with base oils or in face packs. Lavender essential oil soothes inflamed skin very effectively. To make the face pack, take an organic cucumber, peel the outer skin, remove the inner pith and grind to a smooth puree and strain. Extract Aloe Vera gel from a fresh plant, grind to a smooth puree and strain it too. Mix both cucumber extract and Aloe Vera extract together. Add milk powder and mix together to form a thick paste. Add the essential oils and apply all over the face and neck. You will immediately feel the cooling sensation when you apply the face mask. Wait for it to dry for 15 to 20 minutes before washing your face with a mild face wash.

DIY Besan (Kadalai Maavu) Face Pack for Fairness, Acne & Glowing Skin
I am sure, many of you must have tried this besan and turmeric face mask at least once. This mask is very popular because it is made with common kitchen ingredients, very effective and easy to make. This besan/ kadalai maavu face pack is very good for treating acne, skin whitening and it leaves your skin glowing. Regular use will also reduce the facial hair. Almost all Indian household will have besan and turmeric powder in the kitchen. I don't remember a day that I haven't used turmeric in my daily cooking. Besan/ Gram flour/ Chickpea flour is a flour made from ground chick peas. Though in Southern India, we don't use gram flour in cooking commonly like in Northern India, we do stock up on it for the few dishes we make with it and for using it externally on the skin. We call it "Kadalai maavu" in Tamil. But try to buy chick pea flour from reputed brands. Please don't buy gram flour that is bright yellow, as the gram flour might be artificially colored. You can also make your own chick pea flour by grinding dried chick peas in the mixer to a fine powder. Chickpea flour is full of proteins and it is great for the skin. We sometimes use it as a bath powder and for young children, we use it to wash the hair too. This face mask is very good for acne prone, oily skin. This face pack can be used by people with very sensitive skin too, provided you use good quality ingredients. To make the face pack, first rub a piece of turmeric to get the paste. Now add the turmeric paste to the chick pea flour. Add the required amount of whole milk to get a thick spreadable paste. To use, wash your face, wipe dry and then apply a thin coating of the paste all over the face. Wait for it to dry and then wash it off.

DIY: Baking Soda Face Mask Recipe for Acne, Acne Scars & Open Pores
I tried three versions of this baking soda face mask and I have to say, it is one of the quickest way to get rid of acne, open pores & acne scars. Baking soda face masks also leave our skin brighter after using it. Of the three versions, first method was mixing the baking soda with lemon juice. It will start foaming once the lemon juice is added, now add pure unadulterated honey to it and your face mask is ready. I have a very normal skin, but when I applied this combination it started burning, so if you have sensitive skin, please stay away from this combination. I am writing this because many books and articles ask people to try this combination for all skin types. The second one was baking soda mixed with honey. I liked this combination and there was no burning sensation on my skin at all. So if you have sensitive skin, then this is the best combination for you. The last one was the baking soda mixed with plain water and I experienced slight tingling sensation but nothing much. It is also very effective than the rest of the two methods because we are using baking soda directly. To use, first clean your face with a mild face wash, mix the desired combination and using a chop stick apply it over the acne spots. Wait for it to dry, it takes around 5 minutes and then wash your face with water. Pat dry and apply moisturizer. Do this continuously, once every day till the acne disappears. This treatment works wonderfully for some, but might not work for people, who have sensitive skin. Apply this baking soda face mask only on the acne spots and make sure that your baking soda is fresh, for the mask to be effective. If you experience severe burning wash your face immediately.

Turmeric For Acne | How To Use Turmeric For Acne & Acne Scars
Turmeric paste is an amazing ingredient to use for acne & acne scars, as they fight off the acne causing bacteria and has amazing health benefits for skin and face. Acne is one of the major cause for teenage stress. Acne affects both younger and older people alike, leaving us depressed and frustrated. Nowadays we get loads of on the counter medicines and lotions for acne and they are increasing day by day. Most of these creams have side effects like skin peeling, discoloration, sensitivity to sun, etc. We also can't use these products for a long time, as most of them contain steroids. If the condition is mild, you can safely and quickly treat it at home without leaving any scars on the skin. This recipe is made with fresh turmeric paste, as I feel it is very effective for treating acne. You can also use organic turmeric powder instead of the turmeric paste. This recipe also has got tulsi leaves/holy basil leaves. You can also use black tulsi commonly called "Krishna Tulsi" instead of green tulsi leaves/ holy basil leaves in the recipe. Turmeric and tulsi are a magic combination for acne and treats acne very quickly. Along with this mask, if you consume turmeric internally it will give good relief very soon. I used fresh tulsi leaves, but you can also use tulsi powder that you get in the markets instead of the fresh tulsi leaves. To make the recipe, first make a turmeric paste by rubbing turmeric on a coarse stone till you have enough paste. Take fresh tulsi leaves and grind it into a fine paste using boiled water in a mortar and pestle till you get a smooth paste. Add the turmeric paste to it and mix well to a smooth paste. To use, apply a thin coating of this mixture on the face, wait for 10 to 15 minutes before washing off. Continue using it for few days regularly. Regular use of this paste also reduces the scars left by acne. This paste can be refrigerated and used for 2 to 3 days. Please don't be afraid of trying this mask thinking that it will stain your skin, because once you wash your face with a mild soap it completely goes away. If you are using powders, mix it fresh everyday and make sure to buy good quality powders. This paste can be used to treat acne anywhere on the skin.

DIY Apple Cider Vinegar Face Mask Recipe For Acne & Acne Scars
This homemade apple cider vinegar face mask has many skin benefits. This mask is especially useful for people who are suffering from sensitive and acne prone skin. I have a normal skin and every face pack agrees with me, so I have never thought about face packs for people with acne prone, sensitive skin. But one of my friends, who has a very sensitive skin always complains that she cannot use any face packs on her skin. When I was searching for recipes for acne prone skin, I found that apple cider based face masks does wonders for acne, so I tried it with white clay, fresh apple puree, apple cider vinegar and dried herbs. As you can see, all these ingredients are very good for preventing acne but are very gentle on the skin. Apple cider vinegar is amazing in preventing break outs, but if you have a very sensitive skin, it is hard to use apple cider mask directly on the skin. But when combined together like in this mask with other acne preventing natural ingredients, it greatly prevents acne without any skin irritation. White clay | kaolin| china clay is the mildest of all natural clays and is perfect for drawing out impurities from the skin gently. It comes in different shades and you can use the one that you get, but make sure it is of cosmetic grade. You can easily order it through online herb shops and is not very expensive. Apple puree is wonderful in bringing back lost shine to dull skin and tulsi leaves treats and prevents acne break outs very effectively. To make the mask, peel the skin of an apple and grind to a smooth puree along with apple cider vinegar. Now add the white clay to the pureed apple and mix to form a smooth thick paste. I used tulsi leaves that I dried at home in the mask, but you can use any dried herb that suits your skin and that you like. To use, wash and dry your face and then apply the face pack. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and wash it off with a mild soap or a homemade bath powder. I like dried tulsi leaves in the pack as it is treats and prevents skin infections and it is also good for sensitive skin. You can also try herbs like dried neem, rosemary, but make sure to crush them finely before adding them to the mask.

DIY Sandalwood (Chandan) Face Mask / Pack For Acne & Acne Scars
Sandalwood mask is amazingly effective in treating acne and acne scars. Acne is a skin disease that involves oil glands. I read that nearly 70% to 90% of the teenagers all over the world, are affected by acne. Acne, though not such a dreadful disease can leave scars on the face. Acne usually reduces with age, though there are exceptions for it. I feel more than the physical effects like pimples and scars, the stress caused by it is the worst, as it affects mainly the teenagers. Though there are millions of medicated creams and lotions for acne, almost every cream comes with a side effect. This home remedy for acne is very mild and can be used continuously even for months together, without any side effects. The ingredients used in this remedy are vetiver and sandal wood. Vetiver is an antiseptic and is very effective in preventing acne. Now vetiver essential oil is getting very popular for it's wonderful properties. Vetiver is native to India and it's name is derived from Tamil name "Vettiver". Sandal wood is very good in diminishing scars left by acne. Together they make a wonderful treatment for acne. To make this home remedy for acne, Soak dried vetiver in water over night. Next take a sandal wood bark and rub it into a paste with vetiver water. Add few drops of vetiver essential oil and apply on the affected area continuously for best results.
