4 Easy Steps To Make Mango Body Scrub Recipe
Mangoes can be used to make wonderful skin treatments. Here in India, getting mangoes that has been ripened without the use of chemicals is getting difficult day by day. Since almost all my relations are agriculturists, our house is usually filled with mangoes from their farms. If you are fond of mangoes and consume it a lot like me, make sure to buy mangoes that are ripened naturally. Consuming mangoes that has been ripened with chemicals causes stomach pain and increases toxicity in the body. Every since the mango season started, I wanted to make this homemade mango body scrub. It is simple to make, exfoliates the skin naturally and smells heavenly! This scrub has fresh mango puree, citrus essential oils, sugar and coconut oil. The sugar should be of fine texture, else it will irritate the skin. In India, we don't get very fine sugar in the market, so pound the ordinary sugar in the mortar and pestle to get a fine texture sugar. But don't pound it too much and make it into a powder. I used my virgin coconut oil, but even extra virgin olive oil can also be used. I have used orange essential oil, you can use any citrus essential oil you prefer like lemon, bitter orange, tangerine, etc. To make this mango body scrub, first take a fully ripened mango, remove the outer skin and cut into small pieces. Grind it finely in a blender without any water. Take the fine sugar in a mortar and pestle, add the mango puree, essential oil, virgin coconut oil and pound every thing together, till it is mixed well. When you pound it in a mortar and pestle, it does not make the mixture into a puree like a blender does and the sugar is ground only a bit, which is what we want. To use, scoop out the mixture, apply it on wet skin and massage it all over the body before having your bath. Adding citrus essential oil uplifts our mind and virgin coconut oil moisturizes the skin. Enjoy making and using this heavenly mango body scrub!

Sunflower seeds have amazing health and skin benefits and they are a very popular snack, especially during baseball games. They are high in vitamin e, vitamin b and have a good amount of protein, zinc, magnesium other vital minerals. Sunflower seeds when taken internally has many health benefits like it maintains healthy hair and skin and improves cardiovascular health. It is full of fiber and is a perfect snack for dieters, but using it externally also has got amazing skin benefits. Use only the hulled seeds (kernel) for eating as it is easier on the stomach and seeds with the outer shell intact for external application like the scrub in this post. These are some of the benefits of this amazing seed: 1. Sunflower Seeds For Hair Growth: Sunflower seeds are packed with vitamins and minerals necessary for hair growth. Just munching a handful of these energy packed seeds will keep the skin and hair glowing. A good hair massage with unrefined sunflower oil will result in shiny hair that is free of split ends. Even pregnant women can include sunflower seeds in their diet to keep their skin and hair healthy during pregnancy and after giving birth. 2.Sunflower Seeds For Weight Loss: Sunflower seeds are perfect snacks that should be included in a weight loss diet as it keeps us full for a long time and can be easily packed and can be had on the go. Try to substitute snacks with healthy foods like sunflower seeds that keeps you fuller for a long period of time. 3. Sunflower Seeds For Cardiovascular Health: Since these seeds are high in poly unsaturated fatty acids, they help lower bad cholesterol. People who are suffering from high cholesterol levels should include LDL lowering foods in their diet like sunflower seeds often 4.Sunflower Seeds For Diabetics: Sunflower seeds are very good in maintaining the blood sugar levels stable. Especially diabetic patients can include sunflower seeds for their snacks. But remember sunflower seeds are energy packed foods, so have in moderation and try to use seeds that are not too salted. 5. Sunflower Seeds For Skin: Sunflowers are great for skin, both when consumed internally and when used on the skin externally like in face masks and scrubs. It removes the dead cells gently and the natural oils in the seeds doesn't dry out the skin too. I had a packet of sunflower seeds lying in my pantry for a long time. I just had a thought of using it as a scrub yesterday. At first I was doubtful, as I thought I won't be able to grind it finely because I was using the sunflower seeds with the outer skin. But I was sweetly surprised seeing how finely it got ground and I really liked the feel of this scrub on my skin. I needed something to mix it up and make into a paste and I had just extracted fresh thick coconut milk for making a gravy. I just used that along with little coconut oil and I have to say, I really liked this combination. To make this scrub, first sun dry the seeds nicely in the hot sun. If you don't sun dry it well, you won't be able to powder it well. Using scrubs with very grainy ingredients is not a good idea, as it will cause redness and irritation of the skin. Powder the sunflower seeds finely, after sun drying it. Grate a fresh coconut and extract thick coconut milk by grinding the grated coconut along with little water. Add the thick coconut milk and few drops of coconut oil and grind it into a thick paste. To use, wash your face with water and scoop out the required amount of paste and gently massage it in your face for some time before washing off. Hope you have fun making and using the scrub, as much as I did :)

Homemade Walnut Face Scrub Recipe
It is always fun and relaxing to do facial treatments. It is even greater fun, when it is done during the marriage ceremonies with all our cousins and friends. We all want to look our best during these important functions and most of us seek beauty parlors for a relaxing massage or a facial. But many of us have demanding schedules, that leave us barely any time to prepare for important functions, let alone a facial. This homemade walnut scrub is a quick answer to people who want to look their best in the shortest amount of time. I like this scrub because it is made with just two ingredients, can be used for all skin types, is very gentle on the skin and most importantly it is very quick and easy to make. This scrub is made with walnuts and fresh yogurt. Last week, when my son was home from hostel for his holidays, we took a trip to Kodaikanal. I got these organic walnuts from the health shop there, as I bake a lot. Ground walnuts nourishes the skin and it helps to exfoliate the dead cells without irritating the skin. When you make your own homemade products, you know what goes into it and it is a lot cheaper than what we buy in the shops. Applying yogurt on the face can lighten dark spots, heal sun tanned skin and reduce freckles. I always prefer to make my own yogurt but if you prefer to buy it from the shop, buy one that does not have any colorings or flavorings. To make this walnut scrub, tie the fresh yogurt in a muslin cloth/ cheese cloth to drain all the water. I used my jaggery strainer to strain the yogurt, as it is made up of two layers of cloth. Pound the walnuts in a mortar and pestle till you get a coarse powder. Add the drained yogurt to the crushed walnuts and mix well together. Make sure the yogurt is drained of all water else the scrub will be very watery. The amount of walnuts should be more than the yogurt or you will not feel effect of the scrub on your face. To use, massage it gently in a circular motion all over your face and wash off with lukewarm water.

DIY: Homemade Salt Scrub Recipe for Face, Hands, Feet & Body
I tried this homemade sea salt scrub recipe last week and fell in love with it. This home made sea salt and mixed herbs exfoliating scrub is one good example, of how home made things made with simple ingredients can be much more effective than store bought ones. Salt scrubs are natural body purifiers, as the salt removes the toxins from the blocked pores. This scrub also improves circulation, tightens the skin and improve the skin texture dramatically, if used regularly. The sea salt in this salt scrub recipe exfoliates the skin beautifully, leaving it petal smooth and can be used on face, hands, feet and even the whole body. This salt scrub can be used by both men and women. When I tried salt scrub for the first time, I just used it without grinding the salt and I felt my skin turning red and burning because the salt crystals were coarse. The second time I ground it finely with my mortar and pestle and I really loved the feel of it on my skin. Olive oil in the scrub conditions the skin well and leaves it petal smooth. I added all my dried favorite herbs to the scrub, which made it even better. Use this scrub once in a week, not more than that. To make this scrub, take sea salt in a mortar and pestle and grind it finely. Now add extra virgin olive oil and mix it well. Add your favorite dried herbs and grind everything together till everything is mixed well. If you like you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil too. Try any one of the relaxing essential oils like lavender, rose, sandalwood, patchouli etc. This scrub stores well, if you keep it away from moisture. As this scrub exfoliates the skin, make sure to apply a moisturizer after your bath.

5 Easy Steps To Make Lemon Body Scrub Recipe
This homemade lemon body scrub recipe does a wonderful job of removing dead cells from the body. This scrub can be used weekly once by people who do not have sensitive skin, as lemon juice might irritate very sensitive skin. I always love to try out new things. When I saw this recipe in one of my old books, I wanted to try it and I was not disappointed. When I tried it for the first time, I used a thicker cloth and I couldn't feel the almond meal on my skin at all. If you use a thin wet cheese cloth, it will be perfect. To make this lemon body scrub, cut half a fresh lemon and remove the juice and press the pith inside nicely to make a hole. Soak the almonds and remove the skin and grind it in mixer to make almond meal. Mix the almond meal, yogurt and scooped out pulp of the lemon and stuff it in the prepared cut lemon. Wrap it in the wet cheese cloth and rub the scrubber all over your body. I am partial to almonds, but if you like you can substitute it with ground cashews too. I found that my skin was considerably softer after using this scrub. Make sure to apply your moisturizer after using this scrub.
