10 Top Benefits Of Black Tea For Skin, Hair & Health

I have always loved tea and drink it almost daily and I am so happy to share the health benefits of black tea. Black tea is got from the leaves of the shrub called Camellia Sinensis. Four types of tea are got from the same plant - oolong, black, green and white tea. What differentiates them is the level of oxidation and black tea is more oxidized than the rest of the three teas and has a strong flavor. How Is black Tea Produced? The process starts with hand picking tea leaves which is a labor intensive work. Then the tea leaves are sorted and then the process starts. When the tea leaves are brought into the factory, the leaves are full of moisture. The first process is withering, during withering, the tea leaves are spread over a wire mesh and hot air is passed over them to reduce the water content to 70 %. Withering makes the leaves pliable, ready for rolling. During rolling, the tea leaves are rolled either by machine or by hand, rolling breaks the cell structure of the leaves and helps them release their natural oils and then they are ready for oxidation in which the leaves are left to dry out at certain temperature. The color of the leaf indicates the level of oxidization and once the desired color is reached, the leaves are passed into hot air dryers to bring the water content down to almost 3 % and then they are packed. Black Tea Origin: Black tea originated in China in the late Ming dynasty, the first black tea produced was called Lapsang Souchong. Lapsang means high mountainous area and small leaf trees are called Souchong. Usually green tea and oolong tea was drunk in China and black tea was accidentally found when a group of army men passing an old tea factory consumed tea made from the leaves that were left to oxidize in the factory. They liked the robust and intense taste of black tea and continued to oxidise the tea leaves for making it. Black Tea Varieties: Usually black teas are named after the region it is produced. In India, Darjeeling tea, Assam tea, Munnar, Kangra and Nilgiri are popular. In China, Lapsang Souchong, Congou, Keemun, Dianhong, Yingdehong are popular. Ceylon, Nepali, Rize, Jaekseol are popular around the world. Each of these tea have their own characteristics flavor. Black tea is also blended with other dried herbs and flowers to make blends and some of the popular blends are Early Grey tea, English breakfast tea, Irish breakfast tea, Indian Chai tea and Russian Caravan. Black Tea Chemical Constituents: Black tea is rich in polyphenols (the most important are catechins, flavonoids, tannins and theaflavins), amino acids, caffeine, theobromine, theophylline and xanthines. Black Tea Nutrition & Calories: 100 grams of black tea has 1 calorie, 3mg of sodium, 37mg of potassium, 0.3 grams of carbohydrate, 3mg of omega-3-fatty acids, 1 mg of omega-6-fatty acids and 20mg of caffeine. Green Tea vs Black Tea: Green tea does not go through oxidation process while black tea does, oxidation reduces the antioxidant content of black tea when compared to green tea. Regarding the caffeine content, 100 ml of green tea contains around 10.57 mg while black tea contains around 20 mg of caffeine. Nutrition wise green tea is more beneficial than black tea. When it comes to taste, green tea has a slight bitter taste when compared to black tea. Black tea can be stored for a long time when compared to green tea as it loses it flavor quickly. Selecting & Storing Black Tea: If you prefer strong tea, choose Indian teas like Darjeeling or Assam tea. If you prefer a more lighter black tea, choose Chinese black teas. Since I live in Tamil Nadu, I buy Nilgiri tea whenever I visit Ooty. Most of the tea factories have small outlets in the places they are manufactured and usually you can find all the different blends manufactured by them in one single place. I highly suggest you buy tea from these places as you have a wider choice. Regarding storing, I store it in plastic jars in a cool place in the pantry away from moisture and heat. Some Common Questions Regarding Black Tea: How do you drink black tea? To make black tea, take 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of black tea leaves in a tea pot. Pour a cup of boiling water on top and close with a lid, let it steep for 2 to 3 minutes and then strain. Sweeten if you prefer. Where to buy black tea? You can buy black tea in all the departmental stores in India. Always buy from reputed brands and unless you are buying from company outlets don't buy tea sold loose as it is mostly adulterated. How much black tea can you drink a day? Though 250 mg of caffeine is the suggested upper limit for caffeine consumption, I would suggest not drinking more than 2 to 3 cups of black tea as it leads to some side effects like stomach irritation and restlessness. How much caffeine in a cup of black tea? A cup (200 ml) of black tea contains around 40 mg of caffeine. Can I drink tea in empty stomach? Drinking tea in empty stomach increases acidity so always try to have it in between meals. Which is worse for your teeth - coffee or tea? Coffee is better than tea as tannins in tea causes teeth stains so always make sure to gargle your mouth after drinking tea. Is black tea with milk good for you? Try to consume black tea without milk as milk prevents the absorption of antioxidants present in tea. Is black tea dehydrating? Since black tea contains caffeine which is a diuretic, black tea is dehydrating so always have it in moderation. Is black tea healthier than coffee? Black tea has less caffeine than coffee and tea drinkers also have been reported to have less stroke and heart disease. Can black tea help you lose weight? Black tea is rich in polyphenols which helps reduce cholesterol and improve insulin sensitivity. It is also low in calories making it ideal to include in a weight loss diet. Is drinking black tea good for your skin? Since black tea is rich in antioxidants it helps to fight off free radicals that cause premature ageing of the skin. Side Effects Of Black Tea: Like with most foods over consumption of black tea can lead to some side effects like stomach irritation, nervousness, acidity, sleep problems, diarrhea, dizziness and heart burn.....

Apple Cider Vinegar Diet: 5 Weight Loss Benefits & Uses Of Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar also called ACV has multiple health benefits including aiding weight loss. Apple cider vinegar is a type of vinegar got from apples and it's main component is acetic acid. Apple cider vinegar diet which is nothing but consuming a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar daily is increasingly used for aiding weight loss. Apple cider vinegar is known as Seb Ka Sirka in Hindi and it is called by it's English name apple cider vinegar in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and Malayalam. Benefits Of Apple Cider Vinegar For Weight Loss: 1. Stabilizes Blood Sugar Levels: Studies show that apple cider vinegar delays gastric emptying and reduces postprandial blood glucose and insulin levels. Maintaining stable blood sugar sugars is vital when trying to lose weight else we will suffer from hunger pangs and usually reach out for sugary snacks to relieve the hunger pangs which is also one of the main reasons for weight gain. You can read the study that supports this claim here. 2. Suppresses Appetite: Acetic acid found in apple cider vinegar is a well known appetite suppressant. Consuming apple cider vinegar during meal times makes us feel fuller and satisfied quickly thus reducing the overall calorie intake which in turn results in weight loss. 3. Apple Cider Vinegar Helps Control Cravings: When we drink apple cider mixed with water or juice in between meals, it suppresses appetite and stabilizes blood sugar levels thus greatly reducing cravings for high fat, sugary processed foods which are the main reasons for weight gain. 4. Reduces Triglyceride Levels: Acetic acid which is the main component of apple cider vinegar suppresses body fat accumulation and reduces triglyceride levels. During a 12 weeks study, people who consumed around a tbsp of apple cider vinegar experienced weight loss and waist circumference, triglyceride levels and visceral fat was also significantly reduced compared to placebo. You can read the study that proves it here. 5. Apple Cider Vinegar Detoxifies The Body: Apple cider vinegar drink helps detoxify our body naturally. When our body gets rid of toxins, our digestive system works in peak order and there is a boost in our metabolism too. When our digestion is in peak order, nutrients get absorbed efficiently into our body and apple cider vinegar also improves our gut health. I have given my favorite apple cider vinegar weight loss drink recipe below, this recipe made with honey and ginger greatly helps boost metabolism and aids in weight loss. What Type Of Apple Cider Vinegar Is Best For Weight Loss? When buying apple cider vinegar always try to buy organic apple cider vinegar as apples are usually sprayed with pesticides. Also make sure to buy apple cider vinegar with the mother which is the reason behind many of it's amazing health benefits. Mother refers to the live culture that is present in apple cider vinegar, apple cider vinegar with the mother will be cloudy as opposed to regular apple cider vinegar which will be clear. How To Take Apple Cider Vinegar For Weight Loss? Don't drink apple cider vinegar undiluted, always dilute it in water and consume. I would also suggest not mixing apple cider vinegar in tea (herbal teas are ok), sodas, coffee and high sugary drinks. The best time to drink apple cider vinegar is in between meals as it does not cause any stomach irritation and also aids in digestion too. How Much Apple Cider Vinegar To Drink For Weight Loss (Dosage): Though in the study a tbsp of apple cider vinegar was used, I would suggest starting with a tsp of apple cider vinegar mixed with a cup of water. Once your body gets used to this dosage, you can slowly increase it over time to a tbsp per day. Drink it once or twice in divided dosage as per your preference. Apple Cider Vinegar Diet Pills: We also get apple cider vinegar diet pills in the market but I am not sure how effective they are for aiding weight loss, personally I would suggest using organic raw apple cider vinegar with the mother. How Much Weight Can You Lose With Apple Cider Vinegar? Apple cider vinegar does not result in rapid weight loss and the amount of weight we can lose will vary from person to person. But to lose weight faster couple it with a regular exercise regime and a good healthy diet. Apple Cider Vinegar Weight Loss Diet Side Effects: Apple cider vinegar might interfere with certain medications so if you are on any medication, it is best to mention it to your physician. One main concern with drinking highly acidic foods like apple cider vinegar is that it might damage the teeth. To avoid it always drink apple cider vinegar diluted and another tip is to rinse with your mouth after drinking it. You can also drink it using a straw to prevent teeth damage. Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers should consult their physician before taking apple cider vinegar on a daily basis. Too much apple cider vinegar can reduce potassium levels and can lead to osteoporosis.

5 Top Uses, Benefits & Nutrition Of Eggshells For Skin, Hair, Teeth & Garden !

If you are throwing out the eggshells after eating eggs each time, I would strongly suggest not to as it has wonderful uses and benefits. Eggshells are a rich source of calcium and each shell has about 2 grams  and that is a lot of calcium! Eggshell Nutrition: Eggshells contain around 900 mg of elemental calcium (calcium that can be absorbed by our body) and it is found in the form of calcium carbonate. It also contains other micro elements like boron, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, molybdenum, sulfur, zinc, etc. Eggshell powder can be easily absorbed by our body. When I was a student, our school had a beautiful rose garden that produced beautiful large roses. Eggshells from the hostel was regularly used as a manure and it kept the plants healthy. When I had my own garden, I started using eggshells regularly. I always used to think eggshells can only be used as a fertilizer but few months back I read a research paper that proved beyond doubt that eggshell powder can be internally consumed to increase our bone density. Regular use greatly prevents osteoporosis and you can read the study that proves it here. Eggshell powder can be used for skin, teeth and hair care too. Since it is rich in calcium, using it in the form of face pack, gives a nice glow to our skin. Applying the powder as a hair pack makes our hair glossy and shiny. Using it as a tooth paste removes plaque and tartar from our teeth naturally! How To Make Eggshell Calcium? To make eggshell calcium, first take 10 to 12 eggshells. When making eggshell powder, try using only organic, farm raised country eggshells for best results. If you have boiled the eggs, then we do not need to boil the eggshells again. But if you are using the eggshells after making omelettes then I would suggest washing and boiling for 10 minutes to get rid of any bacteria. This step is especially necessary if you are using regular eggs. Then sundry till crisp and powder immediately in a dry mixer to a fine powder and store in an airtight box. Eggshell Powder Dosage: 1/2 tsp of the eggshell powder contains around 400 mg of calcium. Consume the eggshell powder depending on your body's needs. Side Effects: Don't overdose on eggshell powder as overdose of calcium is also bad for us. One of the main concerns of eating eggshell powder is bacteria present in the eggshells. Boiling and sun drying will eliminate the risk of bacterial infection completely but try your best to use organic farm raised eggs for best results....

10 Top Reasons To Drink A Tbsp Of Apple Cider Vinegar Daily

Apple Cider Vinegar also known as Seb Ka Sirka in Hindi has amazing health benefits and medicinal uses. Apple cider vinegar is a type of vinegar got from apples and it has been used widely used both in cooking and in home remedies. Apple cider vinegar is called by it's English name apple cider vinegar in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Apple Cider Vinegar Chemical Composition: The main component of apple cider vinegar is acetic acid. Since apple cider vinegar is made from apples, it contains all the minerals and vitamins that apples contain in lesser quantities like vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, Biotin, folic acid and niacin. Apple cider vinegar also contains pectin and malic acid. Apple Cider Vinegar Nutrients & Calories: 100 ml of apple cider vinegar has around 16.5 calories, 4.11 grams of carbohydrates, 1.02 grams of sugar, .03 grams of protein, 69 mg of potassium, 27.25 mg of sodium, 21.2 mg of calcium, 3.88mg of phosphorus and 2.38mg of vitamin C. We get organic apple cider vinegar easily in Indian markets, you can either buy them or make your own. To make your own apple cider vinegar at home, collect fresh organic apples and chop them into small pieces. Now take the cut apples in a large glass jar and for every 500 grams of apple, add about one and half liters of water. Now add in 1 to 2 cups of organic raw sugar and mix well. Add in 1/4 cup of store bought apple cider vinegar with the mother to it and mix well. Cover the mouth of the jar with a cloth and secure it with a thread. Now place it in your pantry away from direct sunlight, make sure to open and press down any apple pieces poking up every 3 days or so. After a few days you will notice a white layer of bacteria forming on top which is usually called the "Mother". It is the symbiotic live culture of bacteria and yeast that turns the mixture into vinegar. Usually once a batch of apple cider vinegar is made, the mother is used to make a new batch. If you are using the mother, you can reduce the amount of sugar and also you don't have to open the bottle once every 3 days. Just let it sit for 2 months or so in the pantry. If you are making apple cider vinegar the first time without the mother, adding little bit of store bought apple cider vinegar with mother will greatly help. If you don't want to go to all the lengths of making your own apple cider vinegar, you can easily buy apple cider vinegar from the shops. In India, you can buy apple cider vinegar in all the departmental stores but it is hard to get apple cider vinegar with the mother in small towns. When buying try to buy organic, unfiltered and unprocessed apple cider vinegar with the mother. Apple cider vinegar with the mother will look cloudy as opposed to ones without the mother which looks clear. I have pictured only apple cider vinegar without the mother as my local departmental store does not sell apple cider vinegar with the mother. I have also started making my own batch of apple cider vinegar, hopefully it will be ready by within a month or two. Apple Cider Vinegar Side Effects: Though apple cider vinegar has wonderful medicinal uses, we should remember that in excess it does more harm than good. Please remember not to consume raw apple cider vinegar as it will damage the enamel and cause throat and stomach burn. Always dilute it in water before drinking. Also consuming large amounts of apple cider vinegar for long duration's of time could lead to low bone density and low potassium levels. Apple cider vinegar will interact with diabetic and heart medications, diuretic and blood pressure medications so practice caution if you are on any of these medications. Apple Cider Vinegar Dosage: I couldn't find any research recommending a safe dosage. In my personal experience, 1 tsp mixed with a cup of water works really well and does not have any side effects. I would suggest starting with this amount. How To Use Apple Cider Vinegar? To use, take a cup of warm water, mix in 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar and honey, mix well and drink. Some recommend drinking apple cider vinegar in the morning but I would suggest drinking it in between meals or before going to bed as it caused stomach burn when I drank it in empty morning..........

10 Top Medicinal Uses Of Dark Chocolate For Skin, Health & Weight Loss

Statistics tells us that an average person consumes around 5 to 10 kilos of chocolate per year (people in some countries eat more and some less) and that is a lot of chocolate! We have always been advised to stay away from chocolate but what if there is a type of chocolate that can actually do a lot of good to us. The chocolate I am referring to is dark chocolate, it has loads of health benefits and medicinal uses. Dark chocolate is made from cocoa beans | cacao which are actually the seeds of a plant called Theobrama Cacao. There are 3 varieties of chocolate that is commonly available, one is milk chocolate, the second is semi sweet chocolate and the third is dark chocolate. A chocolate is considered dark, if it has 70 % cocoa solids or more. Semisweet chocolate usually contains 30 % cocoa solids and white chocolate contains around 10 % cocoa solids. Dark chocolate contains the least amount of sugar and more of cocoa solids than any type of chocolate which makes it healthy compared to other chocolates. Foods and drinks made from cocoa beans have been consumed from ancient times and has wonderful healing properties. Dark Chocolate Nutrition: 100 grams of dark chocolate contains around 531 calories, 55.5 carbohydrates, 28.5 grams of fat, 13.3 grams of protein and 1.7 grams of fiber. Dark chocolate is also rich in minerals, 100 grams have around 36mg of magnesium, 114mg of potassium, 1.9 mg of iron. It is also rich in selenium, calcium, zinc, manganese and vitamin K. Antioxidants & Flavonoids In Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate contains more phenolic antioxidants than most foods as it is rich in flavonoids particularly falvanols. Flavanols are the reason behind the bitterness of cocoa. Commercial chocolate producers to mask the bitterness, highly process it and add in sugar and other flavors. That is why dark chocolate contains 5 times more flavanols than regular chocolate as there are less additives. The main flavanols found in dark chocolate are epicatechin, catechin and procyanidins and out of these three, procyanidins account for the majority of antioxidant activity. Dark Chocolate Medicinal Uses: 1. Prevents Premature Ageing: Dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and foods that are high in antioxidants fights off free radicals which are the main reason for premature ageing of skin and hair. 2. Cardiovascular Benefits: Cocoa is rich in flavonoids especially flavan-3-ols which has wonderful cardiovascular benefits. Though dark chocolate is rich in lipids, it is mostly stearic acid which does not elevate the serum lipid levels like other saturated fatty acids. 3. Anti Inflammatory Properties: Since dark chocolate have high amount of flavonoids which reduces inflammation, consuming dark chocolate in small doses regularly will reduce inflammation and you can read the study that proves it here. 4. Reduces Blood Pressure: The link between blood pressure and cocoa consumption has been proven clinically beyond doubt. Dark chocolate reduces both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The efficiency depends of the amount of flavnoids present in the dark chocolate, you can read the study that supports this claim here. 5. Improves Insulin Resistance: Kuna Indians of San Blas islands are one of the major consumers of cocoa and not surprisingly they have very low rates of both hypertension and diabetes that is because flavonoids improves insulin sensitivity. The effect on insulin resistance improves when dark chocolate is consumed for long duration's of time. 6. Prevents Cancer: A bar of chocolate preventing cancer can seem little far fetching but chronic inflammation and oxidative stress are the two main factors leading to the formation of cancer. Since dark chocolate is rich in antioxidants and has anti inflammatory properties, it does prevent carcinogenesis. 7. Positive impact On Central Nervous System: Falvonoids present in dark chocolate has a positive effect on our nervous system, it has a protective effect and increases blood flow. It prevents neuronal injury and neuro inflammation and can help improve our long term memory as well. 8. For Weight Loss: Though it is a popular advise to stop having chocolate when we are on a diet to lose weight, dark chocolate if had in small amounts will not lead to weight gain. Also the smell of chocolate actually suppresses appetite. 9. Improves Immunity: Any food that is rich in antioxidants will help improve immunity and since dark chocolate is very high in antioxidants it greatly improves immunity. 10. For Skin Protection: Dark chocolate which has high amount of flavonoids have skin protecting properties and protects the skin from UV damage. Both external application and internal consumption will help. I have given some of the ways I use dark chocolate for skin care below. Dark Chocolate Side Effects: Like any other food consuming large quantity of dark chocolate will have side effects like headache, heartburn, etc. When buying dark chocolate always try to buy chocolate that contains 70 % cocoa solids or more. If you are a regular chocolate lover, you might find it difficult to consume bitter dark chocolate but you will get used to it very soon. 6 Top Medicinal Uses & Side Effects of Flaxseed Oil For Skin, Hair & Health

Flaxseeds are gaining popularity all over the world as it is a rich source of omega 3 fatty acid, lignans and fiber which have amazing health benefits. Nowadays, both flax seeds and flax seed oil are increasingly added to many of the commercial food products. Flaxseed plant has been cultivated for a long time and its botanical name is Linum Usitatissimum which means a very useful plant in Latin. Flaxseed oil obtained from the seeds also have amazing medicinal uses and it also goes by the name linseed oil. From what I found out, the seeds were called linseeds when they were being used primarily for industrial purposes and as an animal feed and people started calling them flaxseeds once they started consuming them regularly as food. Fatty Acids Present In Flaxseed Oil: Alpha-linolenic acid accounts for 40 to 60 %, linolenic acid accounts for 12 to 17%, Oleic acid around 13 to 19 %, stearic acid around 2 to 5 % and palmitic acid around 5 to 8 %. Nutrient value: A tablespoon of flaxseed oil contains around 120 calories, 14 grams of fat and .01 grams of protein. Many of us don't get omega 3 fatty acids from our food and it's deficiency lead to many health problems and especially if you are a vegetarian we should make sure we eat healthy and whole some foods to meet our daily need. Flaxseed oil is one of the best ways for vegetarians to get omega 3 fatty acids. People who don't like taking fish supplements can consider taking flaxseed oil. I have always been interested in flax seeds and when our local departmental store started selling flax seed oil, I immediately got a bottle of organic cold pressed flaxseed oil and started using it on a regular basis. But If you are not a vegetarian and you are debating between flaxseed oil and fish oil, I would suggest taking fish oil. Though both flaxseed and fish oil are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, fish oil contains all the three types of omega 3 fatty acids - ALA (alpha-linolenic acid), DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoicacid) necessary for our body whereas flaxseed oil only contains ALA, our body has to convert it into DHA and EPA. When buying flaxseed oil, try to buy a small bottle and use it within 2 to 3 months as it oxidizes fast. Also while buying make sure to buy only organic cold pressed oil and it is best to consume it raw as opposed to including it in cooking as it oxidizes fast. Flaxseed oil is readily available in all the departmental stores in India. Side Effects: Consuming large doses of flaxseed oil will lead to diarrhea. Also if you are planning to take it on regular basis and if you are on blood thinner or diabetic medications, please mention it to your physician as it might interfere with it. Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers should consume flaxseed oil only after consulting with a physician. Flaxseed Oil Dosage: The general recommended dosage is 1 to 2 teaspoons per day, I would suggest starting with 1 tsp per day....

5 Top Weight Loss Benefits & Uses Of Cumin Water | Jeera Water

Cumin seeds also called as Jeera in Hindi, Seeragam in Tamil are excellent for weight loss and is great for including in a weight loss diet. The first time I drank cumin water | jeera water was when I was around 7 to 8 years old, when I visited Kerala for my holidays. I was mesmerized with the yellow color liquid, though I didn't care much for the taste I used to repeatedly ask only for it. Though we don't drink cumin water at home on a daily basis like my Kerala friends, we do use it as a remedy. Cumin water is now touted as a miracle weight loss drink and I see articles about it everywhere on the web. Is cumin seeds really effective for weight loss? Indeed it is, it has been proven through research but what blew my mind was it had the same effect as a medicine called Orlistat 120, a medicine designed to reduce the absorption of fat and usually prescribed for obese people. A common kitchen ingredient like cumin seeds having the same effect like a prescribed medicine is astonishing. You can read the research paper link here. When we use natural ingredients like cumin seeds in the proper dosage daily, there is literally no side effects and most importantly the treatment is cheap and anyone can do it at home. But please remember when using natural weight loss drinks like cumin water, you have to exercise daily to improve your metabolism and you also need to have a healthy diet. Eating junk food and drinking cumin water daily for weight loss will never work. Here are five reasons why cumin water works for weight loss: 1. Cumin water when consumed internally reduces serum triglycerides, it reduces LDL significantly. 2. Cumin water also raises the (HDL) good cholesterol in our body. 3. Cumin water naturally removes toxins from our body and detoxifies it naturally. 4. Cumin water keeps our digestion in peak order and a good digestive system is essential for natural healthy weight loss. 5. Cumin water improves our resting metabolism resulting in natural healthy fat loss. The daily recommend dosage of cumin water for weight loss is 7.5 mg but I would recommend starting with 1 tsp and slowly increasing it over time..........

5 Top Health Benefits Of Eating Raw Garlic & Honey In Empty Stomach

Both garlic and honey on their own have wonderful health benefits but when combined together offers us even more benefits. Both garlic and honey are rich in antioxidants and they help improve immunity. I love garlic and use it my cooking a lot and even when I was pregnant, I was consuming garlic on a daily basis till I stopped breast feeding to improve breast milk supply. Few months back I read an article explaining the health benefits of consuming raw garlic soaked in honey. I really got very interested because few of my family members consume raw garlic regularly and it is so hard to consume raw garlic and the after smell is also terrible. When I made this garlic honey at home, I peeled off the garlic cloves completely and let it soak in the honey till completely tender. This did two things, it was so easy to consume as the garlic turned tender and because of the honey it also tasted good compared to eating crunchy raw garlic. The active ingredient of garlic is allicin and it gets decentralized by heat so eating garlic in it's raw form is one of the best ways to get all the wonderful benefits it offers. Also crushing garlic lightly before soaking it in honey makes allicin more bio available. Here are the health benefits of consuming raw garlic soaked in honey: 1. Garlic Honey For Cold, Cough & Sore Throat:  Raw garlic and honey are rich in antioxidants and helps improve our immunity and regular consumption helps prevent common cold and flu to a great extent. It is also good for asthma patients too. 2. Garlic Honey For High Blood Pressure: Garlic has been proven to lower blood pressure so this blend is good for patients with high blood pressure. You can read the study that supports this claim here. 4. Garlic Honey For Acne: Both garlic and honey have anti inflammatory properties and regular consumption of garlic honey is great for people who are suffering from acne regularly. 5. Garlic Honey For Weight Loss: Garlic and honey is also an amazing blood purifier and helps detoxify our body naturally and improves our metabolism thus helping in weight loss. It also has anti cancer and anti microbial properties and is also rich in vitamins and minerals. How Much To Consume? Consume about 1 garlic clove soaked in honey daily and slowly increase it to 2 cloves overtime. Side Effects: There are no side effects to consuming garlic honey if taken in moderation but it might cause stomach irritation for certain people if had in an empty stomach. If it does, have it in between meals and never over consume it as it might lead to stomach burning, mouth odor and in certain cases vomiting too.....
